IGSHPA Accredited Installer Trainings in WNC

Geothermal Design Center and Asheville Geothermal, expert geothermal system designers and installers in Western North Carolina, are hosting quarterly Geothermal Installer Trainings in Asheville and other areas in the upper southeast. The three day comprehensive Installer Training Workshops are designed for HVAC contractors, engineers, architects, manufacturers, distributors, dealers, trenching/drilling contractors, building inspectors, and anyone who desires a working knowledge of this innovative technology. Representatives from public utilities, private utilities, and rural electric cooperatives can also benefit from training. Even home owners considering geothermal who just want to learn more about geothermal are invited to attend.

Why Accredited Installer Training?

Installing a geothermal system is a very complicated process. As stated in the Department of Energy's Geothermal Heat Pump National Certification Standard, all geothermal installers should be IGSHPA trained and accredited as a minimum -- IGSHPA is the national standards and training organization for geothermal HVAC systems. Frankly, knowing what we know about geothermal and having seen endless mistakes made by others, we don't understand why anyone would trust a non-IGSHPA Accredited Installer, period!

Trainer: Rick Clemenzi, PE

Rick Clemenzi has been certified by IGSHPA as an Accredited Installer Trainer and Accredited Driller Trainer. He is a Professional Engineer and Mechanical Contractor, and has also received the top certification of the geothermal industry as a Certified GeoExchange Designer, a combined IGSHPA, Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium, and AEE (Association of Energy Engineers) certification. Rick has been awarded these industry leading certifications based on his extensive commercial and residential geothermal experience, and his completion of a rigorous IGSHPA training program. He is also a leading promoter of state and regional programs for geothermal system financing.

Geothermal Installer Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the training and passing the IGSHPA installer's exam, you will be issued IGSHPA accreditation as an installer of geothermal HVAC systems. You will receive an installer's card and a certificate, and be listed in the IGSHPA national database of Accredited Installers. Also, you will receive a 3 year membership with IGSHPA after you have completed the Installation Workshop. Membership in IGSHPA is required to be an Accredited Installer and to maintain accreditation. Further, all attendees at our IGSHPA trainings will receive important hands-on loopfield flushing and HDPE fusion training.
